Ingredients

Protein

  • 1
    1.5 lbs Turkey Breast

Dairy & Fats

  • 1
    0.5 cup Unsalted Butter

Herbs & Spices

  • 1
    2 tbsp Fresh Thyme
  • 2
    2 tbsp Fresh Rosemary
  • 3
    2 tbsp Fresh Parsley
  • 4
    1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 5
    0.5 tsp Onion Powder
  • 6
    0.5 tsp Salt
  • 7
    0.25 tsp Black Pepper

Directions

1

Prepare Turkey

Ensure the turkey breast is fully thawed if frozen. Cut it into 1-inch cubes. Pat the turkey pieces dry with paper towels. This helps achieve a better sear.

2

Prepare Herb Butter

In a small bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, finely chopped fresh thyme, rosemary, and parsley. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all herbs and spices are evenly distributed into the butter. The butter should be fragrant with herbs.

3

Melt Butter

Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. If you don't have a large skillet, you can use a regular pan, but make sure to cook in batches to avoid overcrowding. Add the herb butter to the hot skillet, allowing it to melt and coat the bottom of the pan. Be careful, the pan will be hot.

Sear Turkey Tips

Add the turkey cubes to the skillet, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Overcrowding will cause the turkey to steam instead of sear. Sear the turkey tips for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they develop a nice golden-brown crust. The exterior should look crispy while the inside is still cooking.

5

Cook Through

Reduce the heat to medium-low. Cover the skillet with a lid, allowing the turkey tips to cook through gently. Cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the turkey reaches 165°F (74°C). Use a meat thermometer to ensure it is cooked through. The juices should run clear when pierced with a fork.

6

Rest Turkey

Once cooked, remove the skillet from the heat. Let the turkey tips rest in the skillet for about 2-3 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in more tender and flavorful turkey.

Recipe Tips

  • Use fresh herbs for the best flavor, but dried herbs can be substituted (use half the amount).
  • Adjust the amount of garlic and seasonings to your preference.
  • For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine to the skillet when you reduce the heat, after searing.
  • Serve the turkey tips over mashed potatoes, rice, or a salad.
  • Store leftover turkey tips in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
