Blender
4
Mug

Ingredients

Coffee

  • 1
    1 cup Coffee
  • 2
    1 cup Water

Fats

  • 1
    1 tablespoon Unsalted Butter
  • 2
    1 tablespoon MCT Oil

Directions

1

Heat the Water

Heat water to a near boil using a kettle or pot on the stove. The ideal temperature is around 200-205°F (93-96°C). If you don't have a thermometer, wait until you see small bubbles forming at the bottom of the pot.

2

Brew the Coffee

Place your ground coffee into your french press or other coffee maker. Pour the hot water over the coffee grounds, making sure to saturate all the grounds evenly. Let the coffee steep for about 4-5 minutes.

3

Pour Coffee into Blender

Carefully pour the brewed coffee into a blender. Be cautious when handling hot liquids to avoid spills and burns.

4

Add Butter and MCT Oil

Add 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter and 1 tablespoon of MCT oil to the blender. If you don't have MCT oil, you can use coconut oil as an alternative.

5

Blend the Coffee

Secure the blender lid tightly. Blend the mixture on high speed for 20-30 seconds, until the coffee is frothy and creamy. The mixture should emulsify fully, meaning the fats and coffee are fully combined.

6

Serve

Pour your bulletproof coffee into your favorite mug. Enjoy immediately! Be careful, the coffee will be hot.

Recipe Tips

  • Use high-quality coffee beans for the best flavor.
  • Adjust the amount of butter and MCT oil to your preference. Start with the recommended amounts and adjust for future brews.
  • If you don't have a blender, you can use a milk frother or hand mixer, though the result may not be as creamy.
  • For a vegan version, substitute the butter with coconut oil or a vegan butter alternative.
  • Store your coffee beans in an airtight container in a cool, dark place to maintain freshness.
  • Clean your blender immediately after use to prevent the fats from solidifying and making cleanup harder.
  • Be careful when handling the blender with hot liquids. Make sure the lid is on securely to prevent spills.
